Data
The Dwell Time vending location dataset
Every open listing on PinPoint Vending’s marketplace on October 5, 2026: 87 venues in 29 states, one row each, in a single CSV file. This is the file behind our venue numbers, published so anyone can check them.
What does the file contain?
The file has 87 rows and 19 columns. Each row is one open listing: a venue that has signed a host agreement and has a slot open for a machine. The columns record the venue type, city and state, the listing’s tier, the date the host agreement was signed, the venue-reported visitors a year, the venue’s share of net sales and its basis, the machine the venue signed for, the minimum term, the cost of goods fixed in the agreement, the operator’s enrollment and monthly fees, and the listing’s note on state licenses.

How was it collected?
We collected the file on October 5, 2026 from the public listing pages of PinPoint Vending’s marketplace: one row for every listing open that day. Figures are kept as the listings show them. We do not adjust them or fill gaps: a blank cell means the listing gives no figure, and the visitors_note and share_note columns say why. Live listings change after the snapshot date, so a listing’s page today may differ from its row; the file records the open listings on October 5, 2026.
The daily_visitors column is the marketplace’s own conversion of the annual count, kept as published. Our articles recompute daily traffic from annual_visitors and say how they did it, because a seasonal venue’s busy days are not its annual total divided by 365.
What are its limits?
- Venue-reported. Visitor counts come from the venues and are not audited. Many are round estimates: 59 of the 69 counts are multiples of 5,000.
- Open listings only. The file is a snapshot of venues with a slot open on October 5, 2026, not every venue the company has signed; it reports 329 host agreements signed in total.
- A skewed sample. 80 of 87 rows name a cotton candy machine, and bowling alleys, indoor playgrounds and family entertainment centers make up 44 rows. Nothing here describes office, breakroom or route vending.
- Small groups. 20 of the 26 venue types have one or two listings. Read them as examples, not norms.
- Asks, not outcomes. A share is what the venue’s listing asks. The file holds no sales, operator earnings or renewals.
Can I reuse it?
Yes. The file is free to reuse under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). Credit it as “Dwell Time analysis of listings on PinPoint Vending’s marketplace, October 5, 2026”, and label visitor counts as venue-reported wherever they appear.
